LINE OF FIRE SONGTEXT
What would you do
if it all came back to you?
Each crest of each wave
bright as lightning
What would you say
if you had to leave today?
leave everything behind
even though for once, you’re shining
Standing on higher ground
when you hear the sounds
you realize it’s just the wind
And you notice it matters
who and what you let under your skin
Put to the test
would you step back from the line of fire?
Hold everything back
all emotions set aside it
Convince yourself
someone else
and fight from the world
your lack of confidence.
What you choose to believe in
takes you much too far
takes you much too far
No one else around you
no one to understand you
no one to hear your calls.
Look through all your dark corners
you’re backed up against the wall
step back from the line of fire
What would you do
if it all came back to you?
each crest of each wave
bright as the lightning
do the same as you do
do the same as you do
do the same as you
do the same as you
I do the same as you,
Do the same as you
do the same as you do
What you choose to believe in
takes you much too far
No one else around you
no one to understand you
no one to hear your calls.
Look through all your dark corners
you’re backed up against the wall
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back from the line of fire
Step back
Step back
Step back
Das zweite Video
The new video for „Line of Fire“, from ‚Junip‘, out now on City Slang (EU) and Mute (US). Video directed by Mikel Cee Karlsson.
About the video:
A description of the video by Mikel Cee Karlsson (the creator of the video): „The video(s) tell the story of a tormented old man, stuck in a relationship that perhaps was not his choice, or preference to begin with. We see fragments from childhood, the first awkward kiss, the father watching over him. Making sure he follows the right path. The old man, like all of us, a person programmed by the convictions and beliefs of others. In the case of the old man, the unconscious suddenly manifest itself when a young, jeans wearing character appears in their home, forcing him to question who he really is.“
Angela Troke vor 6 Monaten (bearbeitet)
The opening shots – a reflection of the man he once was…the shaking hand – Alzheimers. The strongest memories are the early ones, like when he and his wife were young, their first kiss, his dad proud of him becoming a man. But now he can’t remember who he was… His wife still there loving the man he was. She dreams of him young and passionate. In the last scene she is rubbing a pregnant belly….probably his own sons bedroom. This is not weird, incestuous, or twisted – it is beautiful, sad, and a reality many are living daily.
Socials:
Die Filmmusik
The band was formed in 1998 by childhood friends José González and Elias Araya along with Tobias Winterkorn. The group was formed as a hobby for the three, who at the time held other occupations: Winterkorn was a part-time teacher, Araya an art student and González was studying biochemistry. In 2000 they released their first EP, Straight Lines.
The band was put on hold when, in 2003, González’s solo career took off, at which time he left his studies and started touring and living from music.[2] In 2005, the band released its second EP, Black Refuge, after which González again embarked on a solo tour.
The band released their first full-length album, Fields, in 2010. On its subsequent tour, the band’s live lineup was expanded to include bass and percussion. Three years later, Junip released their self-titled second album. After the recording of the album and before going on its supporting tour, Araya left the band, being replaced on live performances by other drummers.
